Why Won't God Fix Me?

Have you ever thought "I can't do this anymore." What about "Why does everything have to be so hard?" Or "Why won't God fix me?" "Is God even out there?"

You are not alone.

I know it feels like no one can possibly be experiencing what you are feeling because no one is in the bad place you are right now. But there are millions of women who are dealing with depression just like you. They are doing everything they are supposed to and telling everyone they are the most joyful Christian alive. But they are dying inside. Just like you.

I have been there. Sometimes I am still there.

Depression is real. Some women are clinically depressed, like me. Some women are experiencing situational depression; loss of a loved one, spousal infidelity or abuse, too many children with too many obligation... Add you problems to the lists.

There is a way out of deep depression.

I can hear you saying "You don't know what's going on in my life. " "There is nothing you can do or say that will fix my problem." "Even God hasn't fixed my problem.

I've been exactly where you are. And I laid in that dark void of sadness and despair for many, many year. But finally, I began to see a light. Not a big light, but a glimmer. And I started walking toward that light. Some days I could take a step. Some days I couldn't. But I kept looking at that light and now I'm a lot closer to it than I have ever been.

If you can find the energy to fight to climb out of that pit you're in. If you are willing to consider there is something you can do to change the way you think. If you are open to examining the what and why of the way you feel, you can begin to defeat the enemy of depression and bring it under God's control.

Will it be easy? No. And maybe you are in a place where you just can't try right now. That's OK too. I want to create a community where we can feel safe and tell others what we're going through. I'm excited to have you join me in my journey though depression.

There is hope. There is relief. There is light at the end of this long tunnel we are traveling.

Just remember one thing. You are not alone.
